How to play Daily Prune
A 5×5 grid of digits has a target beside every row and under every column. Cross out numbers so that what remains in each line adds up to its target. There is exactly one solution.
Rules
- Tap a number to cross it out; tap again to lock it as kept; a third tap clears it.
- A target turns green when its line is exact and red if you have already crossed out too much.
Tips
- Start with the smallest targets: a row with a target of 6 can only keep a few small numbers.
- Any number bigger than its row or column target must be crossed out.
- If a line needs everything to reach its target, lock the whole line.
- Use parity: an odd target needs an odd count of odd numbers.
